Run To The Beat 2012 powered by Nike+

Come and join the WSPA Runners Team for the Nike Run to the Beat half-marathon 2012, Sunday 21 October. Selected live bands and DJs will keep your feet moving along the way. This is the UK half-marathon with a difference and you can make it even more special by joining our team and running it for WSPA. Starting and finishing in the shadow of the O2 Arena in Greenwich, you will cross the finish line of the fourth Nike Run to the Beat in style.

Last year, WSPA’s places were snapped up very quickly - so don't hesitate and risk missing out. Please contact us at fundraising@wspa.org.uk or call 0800 316 9772 if you would like to register or get more information.

We ask you to raise as much as you can, and there is no minimum target. Please take a look at this website, packed with ideas and information about fundraising, and be inspired.

Simon Welfare from London:                                                                                Simon Welfare Run to the Beat

“It was an event I didn't think I'd make after getting knocked off my bike just over a month earlier and wrecking my knee.
I went through rehab on the knee and was only just to be able to run again. I still completed the Run to the Beat, to honour all the sponsorship. I did struggle and it did hurt, but simply the idea of a little bit of pain on my part was worth it to prevent the copious amounts of pain inflicted upon animals. It was a great fun run with an excellent atmosphere, and the added bonus of assisting WSPA towards helping Dr Fakhar-i-Abbas with his work stopping bear baiting in Pakistan.”
