Nov 10, 2006

Animals Matter to Me campaign

Thanks to our supporters and member societies, the Animals Matter to Me global petition has now collected over 250,000 signatures! We still need your help to achieve the most successful animal welfare petition ever. If you haven’t signed yet, please do it now.

This petition is fundamental to the future of animal welfare. It is designed to show governments and the United Nations that animal welfare is an important issue that millions of people care about.

Together, we can show that it is a subject which deserves serious attention from our politicians.

Animals themselves, and our treatment of them, matter to everyone.

Tell your government that animals matter to you.

Over 250,000 have already pledged their signature

You can also help us to achieve the target by telling your friends and family and encouraging them to sign too.

Countries from five different global regions have already showed their support for a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare by signing the Animals Matter to Me petition.

More about the Animals Matter to Me campaign

WSPA is joining animal welfare organisations across the world to build the greatest animal welfare petition ever, that will be sent to the United Nations to persuade governments to adopt an international agreement on the welfare of animals.

In principle the Universal Declaration will call on the United Nations to recognise animals as sentient beings, capable of experiencing pain and suffering, and to recognise that animal welfare is an issue of importance as part of the social development of nations worldwide.
