Join in on 888: Day for the Orangutan

Jul 21, 2008

Grendon, an orphan, at the Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Foundation's rescue centre

Northumberland’s beautiful Otterburn Hall Hotel is the venue for a special event on 8 August, the Day of the Orangutan, designed for anyone who cares about the future of these endangered apes. You can find out more, meet other people who care about orangutan survival, or just have some fun!

The family-friendly event on 8 August 2008 aims to raise both funds and awareness about the threats the orangutans face. Your host the Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Foundation has arranged a great day out to do this – and make sure you enjoy yourself in the process!

Activities will include:

  • A quiz with some great orangutan-related prizes for the winners

  • An art auction of some exclusive pieces donated by APE artists

  • Exclusive screenings of episodes of Animal Planet’s Orangutan Island

  • A raffle with some more great prizes

  • Dinner followed by a band.

And there’s more to come… The full itinerary will be confirmed shortly, so please visit the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation website for more details and to buy adult or young person tickets (under 12s can attend for free).
