Helping animals like Chowti

The response to our raffle is fantastic news for animals like Chowti who was one of the four bears that Dr Fakhar-i-Abbas, founder of the Bioresource Research Centre, was desperate to rescue from a life of bear baiting.

And late last year, thanks to WSPA supporters, Fakhar and his dedicated team were able to rescue Chowti and take her to the WSPA-funded Balkasar sanctuary. Blind and badly injured Chowti is now recovering from her wounds and enjoying a life free from pain and fear.

Fakhar is determined to rescue every single bear still used in the horrific sport of bear baiting and with the help of WSPA supporters he is in a much better position to give each and every one a life free from suffering.
