Team WSPA compete in Run to the Beat half marathon

Oct 22, 2012

This weekend WSPA fundraisers from across the country will be pushing themselves to the limit in London’s unique musical half marathon, Run to the Beat

WSPA runner Carrie will be among the 18,500 participants taking to the streets on Sunday. Carrie, 31, was inspired to raise money for WSPA whilst also improving her own health.

Carrie said: “I'm looking forward to crossing the finish line, getting my medal and knowing that I did it, I ran 13.1 miles, something that six months ago I couldn't have dreamt of.”

Team WSPA consists of 30 runners who have been training hard and raising hundreds of pounds to go towards WSPA’s work to relieve animal suffering around the world.

WSPA UK Community Fundraising Manager, Jane Rockliffe added: “Everyone at WSPA is very thankful for all of the hard work our runners have put in to preparing for this race. We are so proud that so many people have been willing to make such a commitment to raise money to help improve animals’ lives across the world and we would like to wish Team WSPA the best of luck for the day.”
